Rome

Getting better with night pictures on the digital camera.  Here are some nocturnal shots of famous Roman landmarks which I (David) couldn't take with the film camera when I lived there several years ago...

1Italy_Dec_2002_Vatican_01.jpg (44506 bytes) 2Italy_Dec_2002_Vatican_02.jpg (49014 bytes) 3Italy_Dec_2002_Rome_Colosseum_01.jpg (51046 bytes)

The Vatican (Saint Peter's Basilica) is on pictures 1 and 2.  Coliseum on No. 3.

Pantheon.

Number 7 and 8:  Piazza Navona.  9:  looking towards Piazza Navona from old apartment.  No.10:  Trevi Fountain -- too bad you can't hear the water splashing...

No. 11 and 12:  in front of the old apartment on Via dei Leutari.  No. 13:  Piazza del Popolo

A drive south of Rome...

 14Italy_Dec_2002_Nemi_02.jpg (34303 bytes) 15Italy_Dec_2002_Nemi_01.jpg (58789 bytes) 16Italy_Dec_2002_Beach_Near_Nettuno_02.jpg (33243 bytes) 17Italy_Dec_2002_Beach_Near_Nettuno_01.jpg (56676 bytes)

14-15:  Photos from Nemi, a town perched on the top of an extinct volcanic crater.  In picture 14, you can see the lake in the crater, and beyond is the Mediterranean.

16-17:  On the beach near Nettuno (looking and feeling pretty rough in #16)

Bologna

 18Italy_Dec_2002_Bologna_02.jpg (44584 bytes) 19Italy_Dec_2002_Bologna_03.jpg (68781 bytes) 20Italy_Dec_2002_Maranello_01.jpg (37413 bytes)

18:  Famous arcades in Bologna -- quite functional on rainy days as we found (like #19).  #20:  Car nut heaven:  the Ferrari museum in Maranello, near Bologna.
