Photos from our trip to Greece in March, 2001
Athens
1. Night view of the Acropolis, from the balcony of our hotel.
2. Looking out the window of our hotel room in downtown Athens the first morning we arrived. It seemed unbelievably warm compared to Sarajevo, and unbelievably loud after our hours at the airport in Zurich. Acropolis in the background.
3. Looks like Julie and the Parthenon.
4. Temple of Zeus, with the Acropolis in the background.
Imerovigli, Santorini
5. Imerovigli is located at one of the highest points on Santorini, and has a great view of the "Caldera", the bay which used to be the inside of a volcano until it exploded a few thousand years ago.
6. Beautiful view of the Caldera and down the stairs to our rented villa.
7. Our home for the next three days.
8. Julie serves grape leaves and wine. Cat is still hoping for cheese, which we've already eaten.
9. "How would you like some General Foods International Coffee?"
10. Breakfast.
Life at Villa Artemis
11. and 12. Santorini is famous for sunsets. Here's one of them, a picture from our balcony with a ferry boat (actually a pretty big ship carrying lots of cars and passengers) slowly making its way across the Caldera.
13. Watching the sunset.
14-19. Some pictures from the strange, cave-like interior of our villa. We were both pretty busy with projects -- two laptops and a couple late nights of work.
